Fired Up Leadership: Your Call to Disrupt

Dr. Frank Rudnesky’s Fired Up Leadership will both inspire and enable you to spark change, regardless of your position.

If you follow me on any social media at all, you might have noticed that I recently attended the first ( but most certainly not the last) Code Breaker Summer Camp, and was blown away after meeting Dr. Rudnesky and attending his Fired Up Leadership session.

I shared a little but about the August 12th session and the core boards on social media but now that I've had the time to read the book, there's just too much to say to limit myself to a simple post, and I decided to use this space to elaborate on why Fired Up Leadership is a much needed game changer.

First of all, it explains why “love and leadership cannot be separated.” Dr. Rudnesky urges us to stop saying we are proactive, to instead be proactive, and to let people know we love them every day.

There are many, many examples of how leadership is not defined by a position, but instead by choices made.

I love how the five domains of Fired Up Leadership are explicitly explained with lots of real life examples, and how you can clearly see not only the connection between them, but also where you are in your own growth as a leader within each domain.

I don't want to give away the entire book, although I couldn't possibly since it's so full of inspiring anecdotes and WOW! Factor moments, but I will share my favorite quotes from each of the five domains.

The First Domain: Self-Management and Organization

“Look into the mirror to see not only who you are but who you can become. That’s when the tipping point begins. Believe in yourself. Keep self-communicating.”

The Second Domain: Communication and Listening

”Creating more leaders is my service. If I can bridge that gap and open minds for people to see themselves differently, the positivity will shut down the naysayers, disrupt the status quo, and then get rid of it.”

The Third Domain: Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, and Team Building

“When everyone in your school feels empowered, problem solving and the team approach become proactive. People feel creative, important, and action oriented. Great thinkers become great doers.”

Also ( this domain NEEDS another quote):

“Empowerment will make quantum leaps in anyone's ability to be a leader.”

The Fourth Domain: Character and Service

“Service is a frame of mind not a time of year.”

The Fifth Domain: Passion

“Passion beats data every time.”

Lastly, I will share that I am currently obsessed with Appendix A which lists 100 fun and inspirational ideas that I can't wait to attempt right now, as a teacher, and hopefully soon as an administrator.

Either way, I know that according to Dr. Rudnesky, I will be a leader. A fired up leader. With the shirt to prove it ;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit the blog today. I hope you found this post worthwhile.

If you would like to connect further, feel free to leave a comment or email and I will get back to you in a timely fashion.

Yours truly,

Jennifer
