“Childhood means simplicity. Look at the world with the child’s eye. It is very beautiful.” Kailash Satyarthi
Being a mom means loving someone with your entire heart and soul and wanting them to be always feel safe, valued, and completely free to be themselves. You want them to know you will always be there for them, no matter what.
It’s not always easy to be a mom (or dad), especially as the children get older and they ( along with us) are faced with new challenges every day.
Then there are those special moments and little reminders that we are all on the right track and it’s all going to turn out alright.
For example, when your child shows you a picture he drew at school and it’s a picture of you and him and has huge big happy faces and hearts everywhere.
And when your just turned teenage daughter asks your opinion on what outfit she should wear for picture day. And then also wears the outfit you choose.
When your child helps out with chores without being asked. And when your child doesn’t brag about helping out with the chores that they were not asked to do.
When your child tells you about a situation at school and trusts you to give them advice and not jump in and make a big deal about it. And when they handle the situation for themselves and thank you for letting them solve their own problem.
When your children get along in the ten minutes they are together waiting for the school bus... wait... that’s actually only a dream of mine. It hasn’t happened yet.
These simple things that we sometimes take for granted and are often overlooked by the monotony of everyday life are also the things that make the most difference, and take up the biggest space in our hearts.
I love being a mom. It’s the most challenging and most rewarding part of my life.
It’s the simple things that make it the most extraordinary thing. That’s why momlife is the best life.
