A Beautiful Form of Politeness
"Being well dressed is a beautiful form of politeness. "
I definitely feel it shows respect and proper etiquette to take the time to present yourself to the world in the most positive way you can. It's not about always going shopping and buying new things and making sure you try every new trend that comes along. I just feel that when you feel that you are perfectly groomed and dressed you can forget that part of you. The more parts of you that you can afford to forget the more you will be able to focus on others. That's when your charm will shine through.
I've found that it's easy to look my best when I stick with the styles and pieces that work well for my body type, lifestyle, budget and that make me feel 'me' as soon as I put them on.
This Shein V-Neckline Calico Print Tassle Tie Maxi Dress has everything I could possibly ask for in a dress. I always look for this type of shirtdress style, inspired by a man's button down shirt, and find it the most flattering for me, because of my curvy shape and small bust, when it has a full skirt and a belt like this one.
I wear a lot of V-Necklines and feel they can be universally flattering. The deeper the diagonal of the V-neck, the more slimming its effect. A V-neck such as this one is helpful for me in flattering my narrow shoulders and deeper Vs are great because they flatter both a small and large bust. This dress has tiny little buttons that run the whole length of the dress so you can create the V you prefer.
The Tassle Tie belt is a really fun detail that caught my eye right away while I was searching Shein's site. I've been searching for transitional pieces as I put together my back to school wardrobe and when I saw the pretty burgundy print I knew it would be a perfect 'First Day of School/ Kindergarten Teacher' outfit!
I love that it's short sleeve so it will be comfortable now as I head back to the classroom on a very hot 80 degree day but all I have to do is add my brown moto-jacket in the fall and heavy blanket scarf in the winter and I'll get lots of use out of this beautiful dress.
I decided to accessorize this dress with bohemian inspired silver, turquoise and brown leather accents. I also added a little of sparkle with my turquoise and crystal necklace. My bag is the same little Summer Straw Bag I fell in love with at the beginning of the summer and blogged about so many times. It's from Lilia's Beauty Bag and she has a great variety of bags for all year round.
Now, of course I have my classroom decorations, welcome bags, name tags, sharpened pencils, crayons, journals, homework folders (and so on and on and on.... ) ready so I can properly greet my new amazing kindergarten students but I need to look my best too, right?
It all goes back to presenting your best self, and feeling so confident about yourself that you then BE your best self. I'm going to try my best to be the best teacher possible for the children I am fortunate enough to be blessed with as students this year.
I'm looking forward to wearing this Shein V-Neck Tassle Tie Maxi Dress on the first day and I'm hoping to share more 'Teacher' and also some not so 'Teacher' looks as the year goes on. I also look forward to sharing beauty products that I have found work for me and my lifestyle as a mom, wife, teacher, and 'fashionista.'
