10 Perfect Classics From Shein: Style That Endures
Classics transcend a particular place or decade. They are about style that endures because it works. I've found that the quality of life does not come in accumulating things, but in pairing down to the essentials, with a commitment to home, community and the environment. In a world of limited resources you can bring value and style into your world with economy and simplicity.
I have been a huge fan of Shein for quite a while now because of the wide variety of both on trend and classic pieces they offer and also because of the extremely affordable prices. Shein has also been a reliable and easy way for me to shop because I know I can do a quick search on my app, find exactly what I need and know it will come to me exactly as I expect and in a timely fashion.
I've done a bit of research and a lot of reflection to come up with this list of classics. Classic pieces that will transcend time and make your life easier because you will be able to pull together that perfect look effortlessly and affordably. Of course the looks will be forever changing because your lifestyle, preferences and tastes will change. And that what makes dressing up so fun!
Since Coco Chanel first created it in the twenties, the little black dress has sprung up in every decade. Vogue magazine labeled it Chanel's "Ford," a ulitarian vehicle of the mechanized world. In recent times it has turned voluptuous in body-sculpting stretch fabrics. I love the drama of this chiffon selection from Shein and believe it is timeless as well as versatile. I can picture it with a fitted moto-jacket or colorful blazer giving it a more casual vibe.
Black Underwear is not just an indulgence; it can, in the right circumstance, function as outerwear- or underwear that shows. Lingerie feeds cravings for a private experience of luxury- the sensation of satin on skin- and the black lends itself to exposure. This camisole makes a perfect evening top.
It has been on the front lines of war, protest, rock and roll, sexual revolution, environmental crisis, and the advertising age. It moved in a matter of decades from underwear for laborers to Oscar-ceremony garb. It's a reminder of simplicity and often the personality of the T-shirt depends on fabric. This one has just the right composition of materials for feeling luxurious yet holding its body and shape and I like the detailed three quarter length sleeves on it.
In the 1950s, Marlon Brando in "The Wild One" and James Dean in "Rebel Without a Cause" made jeans the hallmark of youth and rebellion. I can remember my first pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans in the 70s. I was 5 years old and definitely preferred dresses, but there was just something about those jeans. Shein has a fabulous selection and these are definitely my favorites for right now.
It was once made for the rigors of the trenches, with wool lined, water resistant cotton garbardine and functional detail and is now reissued in luxury fabrics from black satin to gold lame, for day or evening, in full or three-quarter length. This one from Shein would be my pick for the piece you will be so glad you have, season after season, year after year.
Even the simplest shapes take on rugged glamour in leather. Rock stars, directors, and anti-heroes through the decades have made the leather jacket a vehicle of macho-mystique, alienation, and high drama. The lingering appeal is that it's rough and ready and I especially like it when contrasted with more feminine pieces. I can picture this one with a lacy ivory or white dress.
What do you think? What pieces would you include as timeless classics and where are your go-to places to find them?
