Exposing It All:My Favorite Fashion,Cooking and Beauty Secrets
It's been a busy week. It was my dad's birthday over the weekend and since he is like Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy all rolled up into one to my children, it was kind of a big deal. We made all of his favorite foods and yes, I'll be sharing all the recipes. Some of them are actually the very first things I learned to make, years ago, from watching my mom. And yes, she does know I'm sharing family secrets. Well, she will find out if she reads my blog.
We will get to the recipes later. I'm too excited to get started with my most recent thredup finds. These two dresses are the Macy's INC brand but were less than $20.00 each, new with tags.
I added a simple choker from Target and booties from Burlington Coat Factory. The bracelets are my usual Alex&Ani charm bangles I adore.
For this look I added fun jewelry from Burlington Coat Factory and the heels are Zara brand, found at thredup in perfect condition. I wore both of these dresses last week to work but for my dad's birthday celebration I wore a different Thredup find. This one was originally from White House Black Market and was less than $25.00 in perfect condition.
My hat is from Target and the necklace is Kate Spade NY.
My heels are Steve Madden Girl, and what a surprise, found at thredup.
What is thredUP? It's the web’s largest selection of like-new designer looks at up to 90% off retail. It’s also the easiest way to clean out your closet by ordering a Clean Out Kit. Use my link for $10 off!
My secret for finding the best dresses for my shape? I found this book http://www.oprah.com/style/Bradley-Bayous-Sexy-Science-Best-Fashion-for-All-Shapes-and-Sizes and it's amazing ! You won't be disappointed by this entertaining and informative read by Bradley Bayous, a multidisciplinary designer whose career spans fashion, fine art and interior.
Here's another secret. I bet you think I wear dresses and heels every single day. Guess what? You're right. Except that all might change because I was recently asked to try these amazing sneakers http://liuid.com/ and these fabulous leggings from http://audacialondon.com/ and my whole life might be changing.
Liudid is a footwear company with a strong emphasis on philanthropy and community. The sneakers are made using Helix Knit Technology that creates a lighter, more breathable and more durable knit for ultimate footwear comfort that conforms to the feet. I love the way they look and feel and actually wore them for two Saturdays in a row. That is kind of a big deal, considering I wore heels every other Saturday this year.

Can we talk about these leggings? They are from http://audacialondon.com/ and seriously the most flattering leggings I've ever had. They are multi-sport with a high rise bottom that are made to fit like a second skin for yoga, the gym, or just for lounging around. They include two handy pockets for essentials and the breathable elastane-lycra mix fabric offers incredible support and coverage. They are available in full length and cropped.

One last beauty secret-
Today begins my eagerly anticipated 12 week http://www.triabeauty.com/ laser skincare program. I'm excited because it is the only at-home laser clinically proven to reduce multiple signs of aging and I will be keeping you up to date on my experience and results here and on all my social media channels.
As promised, I will end with some of our family secrets. Actually, they are my mom's secret recipe finds for my dad's favorite foods.

My mom made this and we thought it was just a regular cake.
She said she just cut a box shape out of the middle layer to add the mini m&ms.
Obviously the kids were extremely excited to find the candies they had been stealing from the candy dish in their dessert.
We also had a red velvet cake which I shared the recipe for in my Valentine's Day Part 2 post.
This is just a different version with Oreo filling and topping. http://www.justapinch.com/recipes/dessert/cake/red-velvet-pound-cake.html
There you go. All my secrets. For now.
